I
The rain poured from the bellowing skies, hitting the ground with it's fierce anger. While the rain created much noise, the rest of the world was in a state of silence. The world of Trandosha was alive with the timid native species of Trandoshians. Walking but not crawling like they should. This peace has brought only more torture among the Trandoshans, trading has nearly becoming non-existent but the bounty hunting industry here became a almost automatic profession for these people. Some were good, some were actual professionals, and some who just became a bounty hunter to make ends meet. I forced my right hand into a fist as my knuckles snapped into relaxation.
A Trandoshian female came walking towards me, almost limp like but I would assume she was pregnant. She greeted me with a slight bow and began barking at me in their native tongue. They could never speak basic, but it did not bother me. My helmet had easily translated her native tongue into basic.
"Sannis is waiting for you in the family hut. Nobody is there but himself, he would love to do business with you." She finished speaking and moved along within the hut village. These Trandoshans lived outside of the larger cities and enjoyed their solitude life.
I began walking in a slow pace towards the family hut, my back was hurting from a prievous engagement with a hardboiled Sith bent on killing me. Breaking through my armor, she nearly had severed my spine. The story ended with her ending up with no mouth to speak through. As I entered the hut, Sannis greeted me with his supposedly large smile and a bow. His large build sat quietly on the chair as he motioned me to sit from across the small table.
Candles within the hut flickered as he began to tell me about the mining operations going on within the Endor System. He was concerned about that his business would be removed when the Sith take control of the operations in order to get credit and build their military machine. He was a worried man, his face may be of some repetillian figure but he still showed emotion. He wanted me to go to Ord Mantell and make a deal with the corporation there in order to secure the business before the Sith move in and take it.
I silently sat there, my muscles were relaxed as they could be but I was still as the largest tree of Kashyyk. He talked for well over an hour and then later asked if I had recieved what he just told me.
I continue to stay silent, two minutes had passed until I opened my mouth. The helmet had help translate my language unto his.
"You know what you did had conflicted with my business of my own, correct?" The soft electronic voiced inputed into Trandoshian.
His worried look was immediately removed and replaced with a confused look. He wanted to open his mouth but could not find the question.
"You do not own any mining operations in the Endor System, your family has a long history of being spies and should I say...killers. Your father served in the Old War who had executed a dozen of my people. Removed their heads and placed them on spears end." I continued when he quickly rose from his chair and pointed his claw like finger at me.
"Who do you think you are! You dont know me or my family!" His voiced hissed through the translation, his anger grew as I motioned him to be quiet.
"Your family robbed my people of their funds to continue building their operations galaxy-wide. Two weeks prior to this meeting, you had sent a sabotuer in the Outer-Rim systems to locate our last known outpost. To destroy our only remaining ship yard."
Sannis did not take likely of what I was telling him, he quickly drew out his handcrafted blade.
"Just last week, you had sent an assassin to kill me. Instead I removed his ability to see or hear. Now hes walking dumb, deaf, and blind on Tatooine." I rose from my seat and looked into his eye's.
He could not see my eyes, but he could sense that I was staring directly into his animal like pupils.
"Do you know who I am?" I asked him a question.
His teeth were like a wild animal's fangs. Though his mouth wanted to respond to the question at hand, he had not the slightest clue of who I was.
"Before I walked into this hut, I killed your pregnant wife. This is a warning Sannis, the next time you try and come after me or my people. I will not only kill the rest of your family line, but I will make you watch as I slowly kill each one of them, and then I will remove your ability to see. So the last thing you'll see is your family dieing." I grabbed his blade and broke it into pieces.
The pieces fell onto the floor as he stood there in silence. I turned to face the exit, and left the hut. His wife lied in silence as a pool of blood filled her surrounding, the silence filled my ears as Sannis ran out of the hut to meet with his deceased wife, his cries were like that of thundering lightning.
I could have killed him, maybe I should have killed him, but I was not in the business of killing. I am not a saddistic murderer. I am like any man who would protect his wife, his children, his family. The few who knew of our presences, understood very well that we are the biggest threat to their operations. The Mandalorians understood this, the Sith knew this, the Republic knew this. Now so does Sannis and his guild of assassins who work for the Sith Empire. The Jedi will have their spotlight aswell. As for now, we are as vunerable as a homeless man on the streets of Coruscant. I am that thin line that seperates the possiblity of never existing to survival.
As I had left the small village I turned around as over a dozen of his family members crowd around his deceased wife. I looked at my wrist pad and entered a six digit number. I forced my right hand into a fist as the knuckles snapped once more into relaxation. My body armor hummed electronically for a brief moment as the fluids inside my helmet was recycled to recieve a fresh batch of oxygen rich liquid. My lungs felt the cold liquid enter, my breathing became easier. As I turned around and walked towards my shuttle a dozen yards away, sky artillary smacked into the village as the explosion forced the wood particles to fly a mile into the air. The shockwave forced the dirt to rush past me as I felt the pressure hit against my back. It almost felt relaxing to feel that pressure once more. My men aboard the frigate vessel had done their job, my job though was only beganning.
II
The artificial gravity had been off well over three hours, the shuttle had been drifting for a day within the Coruscant System. The lone figure in the cargo bay drifted about, tied down to a chair. The mouth was taped over and over to insure the victim would not speak. Lights flickered on and off after the brief attack by pirates. I felt myself floating lightly as I carefully walked across the hull of the shuttle, I had removed the helmet from the rest of my armor a few minutes ago to see this man in his state of fear. The figure was drifting very slowly around the cargo hold. I stopped myself to look above my level to see him sitting there, wiggling to set himself free. The feet of the chair was hovering a few inches from my face, my hands placing against the feet had slowly brought the chair down to the hull. The figure stayed still after feeling the slight gravity that was created by me.
His eyes were covered over and over with cloth and taped against his head. There was sweating all over, the heat did no good to the two of us. I slowly began removing his cover aswell as the tape that had surrounded his mouth. When the coverings were removed, he look tired, hungry, and weakend. My boots made a metallic sound as they touched against the hull of the ship. The man tried to look at me but feared of being covered back into his prievous state. My eyes narrowed down to his as I brought his face up to look at my figure.
"Do you know what your doing aboard my ship?" The question probably acted more like a threat than what I imagined it could have been.
He shook his head and tried to bring down his head to the floor but my hand stood still, I repeated the question but with a more stern voice.
"DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING ABOARD MY SHIP!" I yelled into his right ear, spit had made their way on the side of his face. He looked at my was more fear and opened his mouth to say something but my other free hand had struck him across the jaw. He flew around with the chair before I took back the chair and placed it back to my level. Blood began to make their way out from his cut lip, I saw the blood form their small round balls as they escaped from his lip.
"You know what I do with pirates like yourself?" I asked as I kneeled before him and brought out my vibro blade that laid holstered on my chest.
"Originally, I use to just shoot them like womprats and let go from the airlock. Then I met a man about the same age look as you, he told me the best way to teach other pirates about their behavour was to have one place on a enviromental suit, but with no oxygen. Send him out of the airlock and watch him as he would remove the helmet as he would be suffocating from absolute no oxygen. He would then began a mildy slow process of dieing in space." I understood the man looked upon me with greater fear after I told him the brief story.
"Though your luck probably have relieved you of that kind of death, you see...instead of killing all of you, I left yourself the lone suvivor. Im going to leave you in an escape pod but with fifteen minutes of oxygen. You better hope within those fifteen minutes...someone will pick you up." I showed him a weak smile before rising to my feet and dragged the chair with me to the escape pod.
The chair felt light weight with no gravity, and made the transport easier on my lungs, by the time I reached to the only escape pod aboard the shuttle, I had removed him from the chair and forced him into the escape pod, closing the hatch on his way in. A few seconds later, the pod launched from the shuttle into space. Of course knowing that the Coruscant System is the most traffic heavy system within the galaxy, he would be picked up within those fifteen minutes.
I had made my way to the cockpit as I saw the escape pod drifting in space, I looked before me and calculated the turrets to aim at the escape pod. The green bolts flashed and thundered their way towards the pod before exploding into a bright flash. I felt nothing, but the pain on my back grew. I then plotted the coordinates to Nar Shaddaa.
III
The metallic taste had invited itself into my mouth, for a brief moment I realised how far gone the galaxy had become. For a moment. Tomorrow had always presented itself a suprise, but today was far different than tomorrow could have been...or should have been. I brought myself to bare as I stood staring against the mirror. The armor was removed from my body, my face told me many stories but all of them did not make sense.
Nar Shaddaa was the complete opposite of Coruscant, the planet was rotting away from the deep roots within many criminal syndicates. My room was hot, hotter than that of Tatooine or maybe it was me? The beads of sweat would tickle against my skin and irritate me into madness. When I arrived, I was ambushed by a gang whos loyalties are with some fat slug or possibly a human. I could care less. The smell within the room was filled with the days of being inprisoned. I lied myself back on the floor and tried to get some rest. Though my head was spinning three hundred and sixty degrees. How did I fall for a complete ambush by these people? I was always ahead of everyone, always. Someone had set me up, someone within the Hutt syndicates.
Hours dragged each day, they felt as if I was walking across a planet but without the walking, I could never reach my destination. Boredom tried to barge my mind but I insue my mind with other thoughts. I wonder when I will be released. My thoughts wondered for themselves. At one level, I thought about the Coalition, the next level I thought about the people who I killed, the other level I thought about myself. Each level grew difficult but I did not care, it was not me who entered these levels.
On the fifth day of inprisonment I was awaken by a figure with boots that felt like leather pushing against my face. My vision blurred, tried to focus upon the figure's face. The focus quickly switch to the cylindric object that laid rested by the figure's hip. My instincts reacted in self defense as I retracted myself against the edge of the hard surface of the room. The figure removed it's cloaked hood to reveal itself to me.
"You know who I am....Zevin." The voice made me wish I was already dead.
My eyes peered past the look of revenge as I saw the woman who stood before me, a Dark Lord of the Sith who even betrayed her masters to hunt down me. Six years ago, I had killed her Jedi master before joining the Sith in their hopes of retaking the galaxy for themselves. I was sent to kill her master after an attempt of uprooting the Coalition to the public eyes. Now she stood before me, a killer who murdered over seven dozen people, in search of me.
She kneeled before me, her other hand hidden beneath the cloak was gently touching against a hidden blade. Her eyes were corrupted but still retain some of her original color. She tried to place the fear onto me, but the fear was a tool to be used against me.
"Zevin, it took me so long to come to the conculsion of our story. Before I even kill you, I will torture you for all the years of the pain I had to endure." Her voice was stern yet calm, she was in control of the situation.
I smiled, content with myself and the situation that abounds around me. The smile did not reveal my teeth, nor did it reveal my true intentions. She took my smile and reversed her early statement as she drew her blade towards my neck.
"Or shall I take pleasure in killing you like a animal?" The blade was already cutting through my skin but not enough to literally gut me open like a animal.
I leaned forward, feeling the blade break some of the skin as I nearly touched her nose to nose.
"Did I ever tell you I was a magician?" I asked with no emotion.
Her look was puzzled by the question but still had the blade against my neck. I winked towards her as I bashed my head against her nose, I felt some of the blade and made it's way into my skin but missed my jugular vein. I pushed her to the floor as I rose up and came down upon her with my hand reaching for her blade and my free hand taking hold of her free hand before she had reached down to her lightsaber.
She struggled to get up but my nearly dead weight and strength of placing her hands down to the ground forced her movements in limited motion. I looked into her eyes, but she did not fear the situation I now I placed her in.
"Let me tell you a secret, as do magicians sometimes reveal their secrets." I looked up towards the door, making sure the guards did not notice of the little rumble that had been created earlier. Then my eyes made their way back to her.
"Maybe you never knew this, but your master was my brother." I winked as I once again brought down my head towards her face, creating a rather bloody mess as she became stunned by the second attack. I rose up to my feet and took the blade but left her lightsaber. I knocked on the door for the guards to enter while I stayed hidden behind the wall. They did exactly as I predicted, one of them seeing her lieing with blood running from her nose. I jabbed the blade into the guard's chest and I pushed him out of the cell, the other guard was briefly knocked over to the ground as he readied his blaster.
I turned to face the guard on the ground as I kicked the blaster to the side and then submitted another kick to the chin. These guards did not work for any syndicates but infact had been working for her from the reveal of their armor as psuedo sith armor. I made a run for the hallway as another man came infront of me holding a vibroblade at the ready. I had ran against the wall before hooking my foot around the man's neck and bringing him down to the ground, my elbow swung to meet against his back.
At this time, I was beginning to cough blood, my breathing was becoming more difficult. Without my armor, I was not going to make it off this planet. I took hold of the man's vibroblade and tried to find the location of my armor. Not many guards were in this abandon apartment but I heard a few chatting about across the hall from my current location. Before I had the ability to make it to the next room, I felt a army come around my neck and suppressing me into a chokehold. I heard her growl like a rancor as she hurdled me against the wall, creating a small inprint of blood against the wall. I tried to focus myself against her with the blade but she had used the force to remove the blade from my hand.
Soon I felt a tingling sensation followed by a hard crushing force bellowing around my neck as I slowly rose up from my feet. Her face bloodied from the prievous afair started to show anger. At this point I could easily die at her will or pass out. I felt the crushing force began to inclose my throat, soon I felt a release and fell to the ground like a ragdoll. My vision began to blur uncontrollably as I soon found myself at the edge of her boot. I rolled on my back as she shoved her boot into my face. I was knocked into unconsciousness with the instant hit.
