Tumki Industries is a galaxy spanning corporate empire.  It's various divisions and subsidiaries have their hands in almost every market.  Investing in them is almost always a safe bet.  Their CEO, Lord Magga the Hutt, has various connections throughout the Republic giving his corporation heavy influence in political dealings.  While the company does do various illegal operations, it is always careful to stay just shy of real trouble.

History

For a corporation of its size, Tumki Industries comes from a rather modest background.  It took centuries for it to grow to its current size, power, and influence, but luckily Hutts tend to live rather long lives.

Early Days

Lady L'Tumeki Lima Garl started Tumki Industries over 1,000 years ago, when she was 215, during the peacetime before the Mandolorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War.  Lady Garl was a lover of literature and film.  She started Tumki Industries as small publishing firm in Hutt Space with goal of publishing various works of art, literature, film, and other creative works by Hutts.  Unfortunately for business, Hutts, although known for many things, creativity wasn't one of them, and Lady Garl, being a Hutt supremacist, would not expand the company to allow any other species to publish.  The corporation barely stayed afloat and never expanded beyond Hutt Space.

Lord Magga

Lady Garl had a son when she was 642 years old, Magga L'Tumeki Garl, and when he was of age she sent him off to a university on Nal Hutta to learn.  There Magga studied everything from business to language to politics.  He graduated after decades of studying with several degrees, his intent was to take over Tumki Industries, but Lady Garl wouldn't allow it, not yet.  So Magga worked odd jobs for several hundred years until his mother passed away at the ripe old age of 921.

Transition

Lady Garl left the company to Magga who, upon hearing the news, rushed back to Nar Shadda to claim his title as CEO. There he used all the connections, money, and knowledge he had built up over the years to expand Tumki Industries. What was once a small local publishing firm quickly expanded into a top 500 company. It began accepting non-Hutt employees and publishing non-Hutt works. Anyone who disagreed was fired, thus showing his employees that no one was irreplaceable.

Magga expanded beyond the publishing arena as well. The company started to get into the manufacturing business and continued to expand into several other areas. This aggressive corporate expansion caught the rest of the galaxies giant corporations off guard and allowed Tumki to gain a foothold in almost every market with relative ease.

Controversy

A company the size of Tumki is not without controversy or enemies. Many see the senate having two types of senators, those who have accepted a Tumki bribe and those who have not. Eventually the public found out about this widespread corruption, but through careful Public Relations, Tumki was able to shift most of the blame to corrupt Republic Senators and come out relatively unscathed by this first bump.

A big blow to Magga personally was when his majordomo and close friend was discovered to be embezzling funds. Tulek Kern had stolen millions from the company. Magga felt personally betrayed by this. He immediately had Kern imprisoned and to be executed as soon as a new Majordomo was chosen. Unfortunately while a meeting to decide this was taking place, a small portion of men in Tumki, loyal to Kern attempted to assassinate Magga, liberate Kern, and sieze control of Tumki by force. Newly appointed CEO of SecMil Corporation Banol Jensa'rai personally led the charge to eliminate these men. As a result, Magga appoint Banol the new majordomo.

A while after this the Kintan Event occurred. The Nikto people of Kintan had always been a client race of the Hutts, basically slaves, until they organized under the leadership of President N'Kaurent Sher and applied for Republic Membership. Once in the Galactic Senate, the Hutts couldn't touch them, but Sher was not a democratically elected President, seizing power in a violent coup and maintaining it through fear and intimidation, President Sher did not care about those he ruled, only the money flowing into his pockets from the Kintan systems mineral rich asteroids. Once Sher took power Tumki had to renegotiate a generous deal with the President for mining rights in the system. The President supplemented his considerable fee by sponsoring Nikto pirates to raid Tumki ships. Once Magga discovered this, he sent in SecMil mercenaries to remove Sher from power resulting in a quick, but bloody, conflict. The Republic did not take kindly to Tumki invading a planet, but they were still recovering and could do little to assist the Nikto people and in senate hearings after the invasion, Tumki claimed their primary motivating factor for the attack was protecting the rights of sentients that Sher had clearly violated. People didn't believe it, but the Republic accepted it mainly because they did not want to take drastic action against Tumki and simply slapped the company with a fine.

Present Day

In the aftermath of the Treaty of Coruscant Magga has shifted the companies focus to assist mainly in the rebuilding and rearming of the Republic.  Tumki continues to expand every day.

Relationship with the Republic

Tumki Industries has several outstanding contracts with the Republic. Its many subsidiaries are hard at work rebuilding the Republic's infrastructure and helping the military rebuild. For centuries Tumki has been deeply ingrained in the Republic’s Military-Industrial complex. The company provides a huge discount to Republic orders and provides the highest quality goods. During the Great War Tumki technology performed admirably and in the aftermath, they were awarded several contracts for new ships in the Navy.

The Great War nearly destroyed dozens of systems; many peoples were displaced by it. The Republic is stretched thin and can’t help all of them. So Tumki struck a deal with the Republic, in exchange for first rights to business on a system, Tumki would lead the rebuilding effort. Presently Tumki Industries is working to rebuild 14 systems.

Tumki works closely with the Republic and over the years has been an invaluable ally. In exchange for helping them in times of crisis, the Republic tends to overlook Tumki’s less legitimate business activities.

Geschaft Tower

One of the last things Lady Garl did before handing the reins of the company to Magga was move there headquarters to from Nal Hutta to Nar Shaddaa.  When Magga took control, the company was operating out of a small skyscraper just west of the refugee sector, not exactly prime real estate.  After Magga began his rapid expansion, he knew that the company would need a new place to operate out of and his engineers conceived Geschaft Tower.

Tumki bought a large section of Vertical City, where the wealthiest on Nar Shaddaa lived.  They immediately began construction.  Using mainly droids, and secretly, slave labor, the tower was completed in just over a decade, remarkable speed for a Tower of its size.

One of the largest buildings on the planet, its said that from the top floor, you can see all of Nar Shaddaa.  The facility is state of the art.  It is built more like a military installation than a luxury tower, although guests will be sure to have everything they could possible need and more.

The tower's top floor is exclusively used for the Hutt's extravagant parties.  The room takes up the whole floor.  A glass wall provides an excellant view of the Smuggler's Moon while guests mingle.  A droid-manned bar provides guests with any drink they could ask for, at a modest expense of course, while vid-screens show sporting events from across the galaxy.  Next to the sports bar are a group of table for guests to sit and enjoy a light snack.  In the middle of the room is a dance floor complete with a stage for musical guests and guest speakers.  Across the room is an art gallery full of rare exhibits as well as a place for Magga's hunters to display their catches.  Next to this is the famous Wall of Infamy where Magga keeps his worst enemies frozen in carbonite.  The wall is both a fascinating piece of art and a warning for those who would dare cross the hutt.

Below this are further guest amenities including a dueling arena (stun weapons only), a spa, and private rooms available for rent.

The next floor down has the tower's command center.  Here SecMil mercenaries under the command of Commander Rutga maintain a vigilant watch over every corner of the tower.  Hidden cameras and microphones monitor everything going on in the building while guards are on active patrol.  During parties, plain clothed guards patrol the crowd as well.  This floor is also the communications hub of the tower.  Here Tumki can monitor all traffic in the Y'toub system and on Nar Shaddaa, nothing escapes Magga's notice.  All Tumki holdings have access to a private, closed, network originating at the Tower.  This guarantees fast and secure communications for all Tumki business.  Also on this floor is the carbonite freezing chamber where Magga entertains guests and punishes enemies.  The room is equiped to seat dozens of guests.  Vid-screens ensure no one misses the action.  Then, after someone is frozen, Magga decides if they are added to the Wall of Infamy or descarded by being thrown out of the tower.  If the slab is done away with, audience members can watch as it tumbles down Geschaft Tower's sides to eventually shatter into oblivion.  The current record, held by a Bounty Hunter foolish enough to try to take the Hutt's life, is 389 meters.

Below the command center is the private offices and quarters of both Lord Magga the Hutt and his Majordomo Banol Jensa'rai.  Here the two work tirelessly to control everything the company does.  This level also houses secure meeting rooms.  These rooms are the only spaces in the tower not monitored by security.  The rooms, once sealed, are completely cut off from the outside world.  This is where Magga conducts his most important and secretive business.

Further down are three levels of hangers.  The first is meant for Nar Shaddaa traffic only, while the second is for interstellar traffic.  Below these two public hangers are the private hangers for Tumki Industries fleet of shuttles and executive's private ships.

The rest of the tower contains such rooms as a medical center, an engineering bay, cell blocks, maintenance, and a variety of other offices where business is conducted.
