Introduction

The Republic Special Forces or RSF is an elite branch of the Republic Military formed at the closing moments of the Great Galactic War. Led by the Republic RSF Command Division, these highly-trained military teams conduct specialized operations such as reconnaissance, unconventional warfare, direct action and counter-terrorism actions. All beyond the limits of normal soldiers.

Our goal is to provide a realistic atmosphere within our military Roleplaying, while becoming a public face for the Republic with our set standards and enjoyable events.

What should you expect?

We're a Heavy-Roleplaying Guild and so we pride ourselves on adapting and progressing through our high quality RP experiences. Amongst our casual gatherings will be plenty of organised events and plotlines that are available for all. Here are some examples of what's to come:

  • Military Engagements: We're fighting a war, never forget that. Alongside our tactical insertions, our sabotage missions and our training of guerillias, we will also be called upon to support the armies of the Republic in frontline battles.
  • Training & Drills: We have a history in other games of being famous for hosting our "weekly RP events". TOR will be no different and being a flexible military force, we have plenty of options here.
  • Representing the Republic: We are the face of the Republic to the Outer Rim Territories. To those who's homes now lie under the control of the Sith. To those with no hope. We are that hope and at all times we must act with honour and respect.
  • Off-Duty RolePlay: Even the Special Forces aren't always on duty. Socialising, relaxing and the odd bottle of Corellian whisky is what makes the nights pass by.

History

As Coruscant fell and the Jedi Order went into exile on the planet Tython, the Republic found itself in a difficult situation as the Sith Empire controlled half the Galaxy. Without the guardians of peace and justice to oppose the Sith, it was only a matter of time before they renewed their conquest over the Republic and instilled a reign of terror over its people. The Great Galactic War was over, and the one to follow it would be even more catastrophic to the Galaxy. It would not be won by the already limited strength of arms or fleets of warships, but with faith in the Republic and small numbers highly-trained soldiers who could do what an army could not. The Republic Special Forces was born, drawing commanders from all over the Republic to coordinate it's vital campaign. Commander Hrisskar Heltz, recently recovering from the loss of his mobile infantry regiment, was promoted to Major and given a seat on the Command Division. There is one focus: Drive the Sith from the Republic at all costs.

Recruitment and Training

The SpecForces are the elite ground troops of the Galactic Republic, assigned to fleets to be sent on detached duties to sectors that needed them. Infantry platoons of SpecForces were organized into formal units, much like the Republic Army, but in the field they were also divided into task forces, consisting of as many soldiers and as much equipment needed to carry out a specific military objective SpecForce Troopers are expected to show above average physical and mental abilities and dedication to the Republic and its cause. While they tend to be a little wild in their private lives, when in the field they generally are extremely professional. SpecForce troopers are idealistic and fully committed to the battle against the Sith Empire. SpecForce candidates have already undergone basic and specialist training. When selected for special forces, the troopers go through another round of advanced training at a drop-camp. The trainees are taught advanced skills essential for special forces service, but the primary purpose of this phase of training is to weed out candidates lacking the drive to succeed in their missions. The standards in every area of training are high, and the drop-out rate is equally high. Many Republic regular troopers are SpecForce washouts, though there is no shame attached to such failure. Simply having been accepted onto a special forces training program is a mark of a trooper's superior qualities, and many failed candidates go on to have successful careers within the Republic military. Basic SpecForce training includes two months of weapons drill using blasters, heavy weaponry, hand weapons and other mixed weaponry including rudimentary handling of various ground vehicles. Also, recruits will take part in over-land marches, para-drops, military history lectures and many other valuable resources.
