Guild Information:

Lack of Faith(LoF) is a Sith guild that was started by longtime friends that played Star Wars Galaxies(SWG) on the Bloodfin server. Originally the Alliance Guild <ALLY>, the friends played SWG until the release of the NGE, after which most guild members went to play World of Warcraft(WOW).

According to the guild's webpage, while most of the founding members went on to WOW, they still held onto hopes of a new Star Wars MMORPG to play. The announcement of Star Wars: The Old Republic (SW:TOR) renewed LoF's quest to attain total power on a Star Wars MMORPG server.

Goals/Plans:

The LoF Guild Charter states that:

"Our goal is to provide a friendly and fun gaming experience for all members interested in building and fostering a great and respected guild. We strive for excellence in our actions and seek success by eliminating anything that may stand in our way. We will not succumb to the Jedi. Our destiny will be determined by our own actions and pure determination through power we gain victory."

Victory has been defined as: "controlling which ever server we end up playing on."

Values/Beliefs:

  • "Power! Unlimited power!" (audio) -Palpatine to Mace Windu, STAR WARS: EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH.

The guild charter expresses that all LoF members should strive for excellence, and that members should help each other whenever possible. Regardless of the activity, LoF holds that all members' game-related efforts should be towards LoF's goal of server control (whether in PVP, PVE, solo play, RP, etc.).

LoF Policies:

The LoF Rules and LoF Guild Charter provide for the policies of the guild and expected guild behavior. However, a once-over of these documents will show that LoF's expectations are common sense and maturity.

The following synopsis gives a quick run-through of LoF's expectations. However, remember: when in doubt CHECK IT OUT. Check the rules and charter, check the LoF forums and ask LoF Sith Lords (officers) regarding possible changes or unforeseen circumstances.

While LoF's rules are straightforward it is very important for LoF members to know them. Violations of the rules subject the LoF member to demotion or dismissal.

General Principals:

  • LoF's Rules are subject to change as new challenges, new game mechanics, and new circumstances dictate. LoF's rules are made with the goal of making the game fun and enjoyable for all LoF members through mutual respect.
  • LoF members are expected to follow all the rules. LoF members unable to do so will be dismissed, put on probation (demoted to Initiate), or are free to leave on personal volition.
  • "Enforcement of [LoF] the code of conduct is every guild member’s responsibility. Disciplinary actions will be taken ASAP as needed by those officers currently available online."
  • Undivided Loyalty: LoF members are expected to keep ALL CHARACTERS on the server in LoF or unguilded (i.e. no guild jumping).
  • A LoF member is to assist fellow guild members without demands for compensation.

Respect:

  • LoF members are to show mutual respect for each other.
  • When under the LoF tag members demonstrate "Honor, Dignity, Respect for other players, and Maturity" in game or on the forums. Failure to do so is grounds for demotion/dismissal.
  • "[LoF m]embers will not use derogatory or slanderous language, nor will a member make comments about race, gender, religion, sexual preference, or creed."
  • LoF members are to be responsible to the guild, and to make the best personal effort to attend guild meetings, participate in guild events, and join groups to get guild members loot/experience.
  • LoF members are to take guild issues up with LoF Sith Lords and NOT publicly complain.
  • LoF members have a right to an opinion but NOT to slander or malign other LoF members.
  • Disputes between LoF members are to be resolved by a trio of LoF Sith Lords (officers).

PVP:

  • A LoF member is to assist all Sith Empire citizens.
  • A LoF member is to kill Republic citizens whenever circumstances permit.
  • LoF members are NOT to corpse-camp or grief without just cause: kill the enemy once and move on.
  • NOTE: If an enemy griefs or corpse camps an LoF member, that is an attack on the entire guild. That enemy player is to have the same camping/griefing done back TEN-FOLD.
  • NOTE: Camping/griefing behavior is permitted if LoF is taking/holding a location or in a guild war, as such is implicit in those activities.

Loot:

  • For loot rolls, LoF practices NEED BEFORE GREED. Period.
  • In regards to crafting, LoF members are not to exploit and make money off of each other but rather to help each other. That means LoF members shouldn't expect LoF crafters to make free gear, nor should LoF crafters charge more than the material cost. Tips are allowed, but not mandatory.

Hacks:

Guild Website Rules:

  • LoF members may not engage in "Trolling, Spamming, or Flaming" on the LoF forums and will be warned and may have forum privileges revoked if this occurs.
  • "[Posting l]inks [on the LoF forums] to websites or images that contain cheats, vulgar material, pornography and other material that is deemed unsuitable by the LOF Guild Council or illegal by the State in which our website is hosted is forbidden."
  • The LoF Forums are for SW:TOR, no promoting other MMORPGs.

Membership Structure/Hierarchy:

  • "I am the Senate!" -Palpatine to Mace Windu, STAR WARS: EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH.

According the the guild charter, LoF has the membership structure as outlined below.

Sith Initiate:

LoF Sith Initiate is the first "rank" acquired upon joining LoF, albeit it is a probationary one. The guild charter states:

"This rank is for new members of our guild. Players stay at this rank for 1 month during which they are on probationary status. After posting at least 1 time to the guild message boards and being a member of our community for 1 month, players will be accepted as full Members of the guild. All new guild members start at the Initiate rank. After their probation is over, they can be promoted to any appropriate level based on the descriptions [below]."

Sith Apprentice:

LoF Sith Apprentice is the second rank in LoF, and is the rank for a full member in good standing with the guild.

Sith Warrior:

LoF Sith Warrior is the LoF veteran rank. The guild charter states:

"This rank is a symbol of loyalty and dedication to the guild. Players who are Sith Warriors have proven, over an extended period of time, their leadership qualities. They organize and lead groups and raids, help players in the guild with quests, help new players integrate into our community and work with Officer’s to manage guild functions."

Sith Master:

LoF Sith Masters are so named to reflect mastery over a variety of game mechanics and guild leadership functions. The requirements and responsibilities for this rank are outlined by the guild charter to include:

  • Mastery of the player's chosen class, defined as knowing the class "inside and out."
  • Availability to answer other LoF guild member's questions regarding the LoF Sith Master's class.
  • Responsibility for training other LoF member's of the same class for PVP.

Moreover, LoF Sith Masters have guild powers to enhance job performance, including guild invite as well as other powers to be determined.

Sith Lord:

Within the context of the LoF hierarchy a Sith Lord is a guild officer.

LoF Sith Lords are assigned a primary responsibility in which to manage the guild's day-to-day operations. As such, LoF Sith Lords are expected to be active, but also have full access to all guild management abilities allowed by SW:TOR.

Expected management areas include:

  • Raid Leaders,
  • Group Leaders
  • RP Event Planners,
  • More as need dictates

LoF Sith Lords are also primarily responsible for LoF's Community Relations. Sith Lords are to fact-check any statements made regarding the guild and appropriately respond to any statements made regarding LoF "whether factual or libelous."

LoF Sith Lords return to the rank of Sith Warrior when not actively performing assigned guild management responsibilities.

The Dark Lord of The Sith:

The LoF honorific for the guild leader is Dark Lord of the Sith. The LoF Guild leader is Darth Talon, the LoF Dark Lord of the Sith.

The Sith Council:

The LoF Sith Council is made up of the guild's Sith Lords, and is led by the LoF Dark Lord of the Sith.

Governance:

  • LoF Sith Lords (officers) may call for a vote on a decision.
  • The LoF Council of Lords take simple majority votes on all decisions through private officer polls with a 1 week duration.
  • In the case of an emergency, a simple majority vote of officers online will suffice.
  • Polling: Some issues may be set to a general, NON-BINDING opinion poll of LoF's non-officer members. The LoF Sith Lords (officers) then must vote on the poll results to determine the poll's effect.

Joining and Leaving:

Joining:

To join LoF, simply proceed to the LoF homepage and submit your application by clicking this link.

Expectations:

  • When a part of LoF it is expected that you comply with the provisions of the guild charter and the guild rules. Links to both can be found in the link section below.
  • You are also expected to meet commitments to the guild: whether fulfilling duties if you accepted an officer post or if you pledge to help a fellow guild member. In other words, KEEP YOUR PROMISES.
  • Remember that you are also to show LoF undivided loyalty: if you post on another forum asking to join their guild your departure will be expedited.

Leaving:

  • LoF members are free to leave the guild.
  • If you leave on your own accord you will likely be let back in unless a LoF Sith Lord (officer) determines that you left in bad taste. If re-accepted you start at the bottom rank.
  • Leave twice, and you won't be accepted back into LoF.
  • "If you have a problem with a guild member that cannot be solved between the two of you, it is imperative that you take it up with one of the officers. If your initial response is to leave the guild first, and THEN try to talk to one of us, you will most likely get ignored. We have no patience for cry babies and drama queens. Stay in the guild and try to correct the problem, not run away."
  • Think and be sure of your decision if you choose to leave LoF. Talk to a LoF Sith Lord (officer) you feel comfortable with first, as many issues players dread and drama over can be easily resolved with communication.

Notable Members:

(alphabetical order)

  • Apoche, LoF Sith Lord
  • Auren Malo, LoF Sith Lord.
  • Darth Talon, LoF Dark Lord of the Sith: leader of LoF.
  • Syzion, LoF Sith Initiate: who really doesn't matter much beyond that he promotes the guild for free, with things like wiki pages.

Theme(s):

JediMasterLepras chose to honor LoF with a theme he composed, entitled Lack of Faith. The song can be downloaded from the track list in the thread.

SW:TOR Events:

Once SW:TOR launches, information regarding LoF's actions will be posted here.

OOC Info:

  • This wiki has been formatted to comport with general wiki standards, and is being updated and corrected as needed.
  • LoF strives for excellence in everything it does: if your guild is making big promises but won't even put effort into their SW:TOR-forum signatures or their webpage(s), you should seriously consider where your guild is really headed come launch.
