Appearance
Tall and Muscular build, bares scars from beatings and work. Wears fingerless gloves to hide a plasma torch burn on his right hand military style dark brown hair and clean shaven. Walks with a limp after a star fighter crushed his right leg. Blue eyes he wears a brown jacket and a black shirt underneath and black pants with military boots. he has a tattoo on his left shoulder it contains a shield and a sword and underneath it says Never forget the Seige. He also has a scar that runs along his back.
History
Young life
As a kid Derrick only knew his father he never had a mother and his father looked nothing like him. His father Jerec was a patriot he was a soldier for the republic and has many scars he never talks about. Derrick was taken out of the Fondor orphanage at the age of 9 and was living with Jerec in the bad place of town. At nights when jerec got home from one of his outings Derrick would hide away in his room fearing for his life but to no avail Jerec would beat Derrick until Jerec could see no fear in the boys' eyes. Derrick grew up hating and fearing his adopted father. His father made sure he had the best grades in all his classes and never slacked off. He only had a few friends but they were to scared to come over to his house.
Teenage years
About the age of 15 Jerec started asking Derrick what he wants to do when he is older not knowing what he wanted to do Jerec put Derrick in a teenage boot camp. Jerec made a deal with the boy if he comes out of boot camp and excells everyone else he will tell him about his birth parents. Hearing this news Derrick was ready for boot camp. Derrick trained long and hard for boot camp but a week before he was suppose to go Derrick found himself looking at a thug harrassing a mother and two kids furious Derrick grabbed a stick and charged at the thug. As he charged the thug grabbed the boys arm and flipped him on his back derrick yelled for the mother and kids to run away and when they did the thug only had derrick to take his anger out on. Knowing much from fights against Jerec, Derrick knew if he could keep the thug angry he would have a better chance at winning. The entire fight lasted about 5 minutes with the thug holding a blaster to Derricks head the thug had a broken arm and a busted lip, while derrick was face down on the ground. Derrick realizing he was going to die heard a shot as he looked up he saw Jerec with his rifle out.
Boot Camp
The first week of boot camp was the worst week of Derricks life he found himself actually wanting the beatings that Jerec gave him but as time went on it grew more challenging and Derrick was always up for it. Derrick made a few friends and a few enemies one day on a mile run one of his enemies a rich kid named Lot Krotan tried to start a fight with Derrick to get him kicked out. Derrick though tripped Lot and busted his lip on the fall grinning the rest of the day Lot never bothered Derrick again. Upon graduation Jerec told Derrick his parents were both smugglers they were captured by pirates and killed Jerec was a friend to Derricks mother and father and took care of him Through legal issuses though Derrick had to remain in a orphanage till Jerec filled out the paper work.
Work on Fondor
A few years later at the age of 18 Derrick decided to work for the ship yards repairing ships and building new ones. He had come to love his job and made alot of new friends after about five months on the job Derrick was order to help fix a Republic Capitol ship a day and a few hours later the ship was fixed. The captain of the ship saw the young mans engineering ability and asked if he wanted to join the army. Derrick signed up with him in just a few hours later.
Work for the Republic
While servering the Republic Army Derrick went to many battle fronts and even had to fight a few times himself he worked on broken vehicles and even weapons. He studied the lightsaber with jedi permission of course from some of the soldiers he was interested in the jedi and was fond of them ever since Jerec told him stories.
Sacking of Coruscant
During the Sacking Derrick was aboard the ship Republic's Spirit in the mess hall when the news came in the first thing that went through his mind was his adoption father Jerec. As the sacking was over he kept asking his commander if Jerec was alive Derrick got no answer. One day after Derrick had asked again the commander finally said that the Jedi temple was destroyed and that Jerec had not survive. Over come with anger Derrick was only seen in the sparring room.
The Accident
A few weeks after the Sacking Derrick was working on a starfighter finally over his anger of what happened he was calm but deathly quiet. A few minutes into the repair the ship started falling when Derrick finally noticed this he tried backing up but the ship fell to fast and crushed his right leg shattering bone. On his way to med bay Derrick over comed by pain keeps telling himself it was trapped that somebody wanted him dead.
A Jedi's Proposal
while in med bay a jedi asked if Derrick would like to be trained in the force for he had the ability Derrick at first laughed at the idea then thought about it closely after a few hours of thinking it over he finally agreed to join the Jedi Order on Tython. The jedi said they would leave that night then, A few hours later Derrick was bound for Tython on a stretcher.
The Arrival of Tython
After the ship had landed Derrick disembarked the ship the Jedi told him everything he need to know was here and to take care. Derrick wondered around until he heard the Knights of Sokan was looking for new members. As Derrick heard this he limped as fast as he could to see if they would accept him and take him in and train him.
Personality
He is a Clever guy who likes to think about all solutions but is not afraid to fight. He angers quick but calms down by working on anything he can find. He is smart and shy he never disobeys orders. He is known to do what ever it takes to complete an order even if it means doing things that would be considered wrong.
