Early Life
Aren Lesho was Arbuk's father, he lived on Corellia where smugglers thrived. Thats what he did for a living, he smuggled goods all over the galaxy. On a trip back to Corellia Aren's wife went into labor. By the time their ship came out of hyperspace, Arbuk had been born. Aren taught Arbuk everything about smuggling, slicing into terminals, breaking out of prison, moving around undetected, knocking someone out, everything. Aren took Arbuk wherever he went, wether taking some parts to an old friend or breaking someone
out of a high security prison, they always pulled it off.
One night while taking some repair kits to a few Sullustans around Coruscant Arbuk was denied another cookie from the jar, it didn't seem to please him. Aren had to get out to deliver the kits so he locked the jar up in his safe and got out of their ship. "Alright then" Aren said to the repairmen, "I have your kits, you have my money. So I'll give you these kits for.... 300 credits." The Sullustans looked astonished, "You smugglers are always so expensive, 100 credits" "250!" Aren shouted back. "150!" "275!" The Sullustans needed the kits, badly and Aren knew it. They agreed to 275 credits. When he got back in to the ship, he found Arbuk wearing the jewlry he put in his safe and eating all of the cookies. "Hey! What are you doing? Give me those!" After a brief struggle, Arbuk gave him the cookies."At least you listened to what I told you!"
Found by the Jedi
Aren's ship had just come out of hyperspace over Mygeeto he looked over at Arbuk sleeping in his chair, and then he looked at the cargo to make sure it was ok, it was still strapped in where it was tied up at the start of the trip. Suddenly, there was a loudbang and the ship shook violently. Arbuk woke up, crying. Aren looked at one of the panels, the stabilizer had been hit by an asteroid and the ship was spinning out of control. He strapped in and prepared for landing. When the ship hit the surface it ended up crashing through one of the buildings and onto the planets surface.
When they got out of the wreckage, Aren was holding the package and Arbuk just ran. When Arbuk tripped he looked up and saw a robed person that looked like someone he saw after Aren got in a bar fight. "Hello there," the person said, " are you alright it looks like you and your dad took quite the crash, it's amazing you survived." Arbuk looked into his eyes, he felt better. "I'm fine, mister." When Aren saw Arbuk talking to this person, he grabbed him and yelled furiously, "We don't need your help here, Jedi!" The Jedi looked back and said, "Calm down, I just want to help." At that Aren took Arbuk to an apartment where they would stay until the ship was repaired.
At the apartment, Arbuk wondered why his dad got so mad at the robed person. "Hey dad," he said "Yeah, son, what do you need?" Aren answered. "Why did you get so mad at the person who wore those brown robes?" Aren didn't say anything for awhile. Finally he said, "You know what, Arbuk? I heard there was a way to get out of the city where not many people have been, Why don't you check it out?" Arbuk's face lit up with excitement, he didn't even care where this place was. Right before he shot outside, Aren told him to be back at 5 o'clock.
In the middle of the streets of Mygeeto, Arbuk was heading straight ahead. He didn't know where he was going, but he didn't care. After an hour or two, he left the city he and his dad were stuck in and ended up in a wide expance of crystalized rocks, Arbuk thought they might be worth inspecting closer. When he came to within a few feet from one, he saw a small worm. Arbuk looked at it and picked it up. When he did that he heard some loud rumbling. When Arbuk turned around he saw a worm much like the one squirming in his arms, but much, much bigger. "Nice worm," He said, "Do you want you baby back? Here you go." Arbuk let go of the worm and it wiggled toward the behemoth in front of them. It screached, slithered away and got swallowed up by the larger one. "Ok maybe he did do something wrong, I think you're a great parent!" Arbuk said, trying to get on it's good side. It lunged at him, Arbuk dove out of the way and picked up a rock. The worm was out of sight, Arbuk felt the ground loosen beneathe him. He stepped aside and when the worm came up, he threw the rock he held right at it's face. The worm screamed. Arbuk thought he killed it, but it turned toward him and lunged. Suddenly the worm was thrown back and the robed person from before appeard. He looked at him and said, "Hello there, you battled that thing pretty well." Arbuk stood up and said nothing. "Don't be frightened, young one. Come, let me show you something. Arbuk didn't see any harm in it, the man just saved his life, so he followed.
When the man stopped they were at the edge of a cliff dropping off into a canyon. The man looked at Arbuk and asked, "Hey do you want to play hide-and-seek?" Arbuk said, "Yeah!" The man looked at him and said "Ok you count first." Arbuk closed his eyes. When he opened them. The man was gone but there was a path into the wall of the cliff. Arbuk followed it down untill a cave opened in the wall. He went inside, though he was expecting complete darkness, the cave was lit by colored crystals in the wall that led Arbuk to the man who was meditating. "Do you know why those crystals lit up when you walked near them?" "No." Arbuk answered. The man turned to him, "It is because you can command something many others can also. It is known as The Force. The Force can influence many things to react to you. You can cause crystals to light up, for instance. You are Force sensitive and you can be trained to use The Force to guide you, protect you, strengthen and enlighten you. You will learn to use it as your ally. Once you are trained in the arts of The Force you will be called a Jedi." "Are you a Jedi?" Arbuk asked. "Yes, I am." The man said. "Being a Jedi is very tough, it means more than being able to command The Force. The Jedi are the protectors of civilization throughout the galaxy. They solve conflicts before they become or are voilent. Also a Je-" "Wait! If a Jedi stops conflicts, why did my dad yell at you?" Arbuk interupted. "Some don't understand Jedi, they think we cause the problems rather than solve them." The Jedi thought for moment. "What's your name?" Arbuk asked. "Bor'wan." He answered. "I know your Arbuk and I know you father is Aren." Arbuk couldn't beleive what Bor'wan could do, guess his name and his father's name right. "Now I need to ask you something, Arbuk. Do you want to be a Jedi? I warn you, you will be hunted and hated by some who will kill you if they get the chance." Arbuk didn't have a doubt in him at all. "I want to be a Jedi." At that Bor'wan took him back home to talk to Aren.
Escape
When Arbuk and Bor'wan arrived at their apartment Aren's face turned red with fury. Arbuk was sent to his room while the two talked. He heard Aren yelling "NO HE WILL NOT GO!!! I WILL NOT HAVE HIM TRAINED AS A JEDI!" Bor'wan calmly answered, "He insists on being a Jedi." They moved away from the door and Arbuk couldn't hear anything more. He decided to go to sleep.
The next morning Arbuk woke up and found a note from Bor'wan.
Don't worry, young one, you will be initiated in the Jedi order by tomorrow night. Do what your father says, he couldn't be angrier at me.
Just then, Aren walked in. "Hey, Arbuk," he said in a soft voice, "did you sleep ok?" "I slept fine dad." Arbuk answered. "Good, I..uh.. just came in to say that you will not be trained as a Jedi. I don't care how sad or angry you are at me but you will not be going. I have even talked to your mother about this." Arbuk knew if he talked to his mom about something, it was serious. "Ok dad." he said. Aren looked surprised at Arbuk, "You know what, I'm hungry, lets go down to the cafe' and get something to eat!" So they did. While at the cafe' Arbuk noticed a poster for one of their favorite bands that was appearing in the cantina that night. Aren jumped up and reserved a good seat, very close to the stage. They waited anxiously for the concert for the rest of the day until it was time to head over to the cantina. The concert was great and they both got an autograph from everyone in the band.
The day after the concert Arbuk woke up to find Aren still asleep. Apparently he didn't sleep well the night before, neither did Arbuk. He turned to the window and saw Bor'wan standing there motioning him to open it. Arbuk opened the window and he fell in. "Ah, not one of my better entrances." He said. Arbuk let out a slight chuckle, "Well my dad's asleep." "Yes thought as much, some people can't sleep after a concert like that. Well, lets pack your things and go." In a few minutes they were out the door and Bor'wan left a note with 200 credits on Arbuk's bed. After running through the city for a few hours, they got on Bor'wan's ship, a small freighter similar in size to Aren's ship. Inside Bor'wan had a room already made out for Arbuk. Good thing, too Arbuk fell right to sleep.
Arbuk woke up the next morning to find a note from Bor'wan.
You may go anywhere you like but not the room right across the hall from yours, that is where I do work and I have been very busy lately. If the door is open, however you may come in.
He looked across the hall, 'of course the door is closed.' Arbuk thought. He walked around the ship for a few minutes and hunger brought him to the dining room. Arbuk had a good breakfast, the best he'd ever had. Smugglers do not make the best cooks. He looked outside and saw nothing but stars as they blurred by the ship in hyperspace. A crew member approached Arbuk, "Ah yes, the new visitor Bor'wan told us about. Are you wondering where we are? Here, I'll show you on the charts." They were just passing Corellia, Arbuk wanted to stop there, but he remembered what Bor'wan said about being a Jedi.
Suddenly, the ship shook violently. A voice came over the commlink. "Where is Arbuk? Huh? I know he is there! Tell me now or I blow that ship of yours to little pieces." It was Aren. "You know this guy?" asked the crew member. "My dad." Arbuk said. "Oh, don't worry we deal with this kind of stuff all the time." The crew member shifted his attenton to the commlink. "Arbuk came here by his own free will. Who are you to stop him?" "I'm not going to stop him. But I will blow him up if you don't hand him over now!" Arbuk had never even thought of his dad being this mad. "Now calm down sir there is no need for a fight." "Oh yes there is!" Aren fired all the guns on their little freighter. "Oh great look at the size of that thing, this'll be easy." one of the gunners said laughing. "Wait a minute, where'd he go?" another crew member shouted, everyone was in a panic. "I see him! No he's gone." "No worries I got him. Damn it!" everyone was shoutin and looking outside, because the nimble freighter jumped on and off radar too quickly. Arbuk looked out the window, what he saw horrified him. "Mandalorians!" Now the crew turned the ship toward the mandalorian frigate, all guns opened fire straight at it. The fighters were launched from their ship and pilots ran to their own. One fighter was left there and with no one to claim it, Arbuk saw a golden opportunity to do some flying, which he had done often against madalorians.
Back in the control room Bor'wan was getting filled in on everything. The captain picked up the comm "Alright pilots, we need to defend this ship at all costs, all wings report in!" "Red leader standing by." "Red 2 standing by." Red 3 standing by." "Red 4 standing by." "Red 5 standing by" "Red 6 standing by." " Alright now gold squadre-... wait we don't have a Red 6! Who is that?" "I hope you don't mind, I just thought that since my dad has needed me to do this before I'd come and help." Arbuk said, laughing. "Let him go," Bor'wan said, "He knows what he's doing. Look he's in a tight formation with them too." The captain nodden and continued the roll call. "Everyone's here. All fighters, engage and protect the bombers!" As they flew toward the oncoming fighters, Red leader spoke to Arbuk "Do you have your helmet and your flightsuit? They will protect you if your fighter blows up." "That's reasuring. But, yes I do have them on." Arbuk responded "Alright, then lets go! Full throtle everyone we need to beat the fighters to the punch!"
A masive battle erupted. Mandalorian fighters were everywhere, all of red squadren was ocupied. Arbuk was right behind one of the fighters but couldn't get the crosshair over it, it was maneuvering quickly. Remembering past dogfights, he fired the guns and it hit another Mandalorian which crashed into the first one creating an explosion that lighted up the cockpit. "Ha! Does that count as one kill or two?" "Two!" said the now free Red 2, "Where did you learn to do that at your age?" "Experience!" Arbuk yelled as yet another fighter was shot down in front of him. "Hey, that one's mine!" Shouted Red 5. "Red 6, one's on your tail!" Red leader shouted in horror. "I see him!" He pulled a split-S (A dogfighting maneuver, simple, kicks butt!) bringing the fighter right in front of Red 2. He didn't waste any time. Red two fired his lasers and the fighter was destroyed. The frigate turned it's guns on the fighters. The squadren drew fire away from the bombers, who in turn dropped their payload and destroyed the frigate.
The bombers landed in the hanger and so did the fighters. Everyone was cheering for each other. Except one spot in the hangar was empty. "Where's Red 4?" "He was here on the final approach, all the mandalorians have been dealt with, right?" "Oh crap! The freighter!" Everyone stopped dead silent. A voice came over the comm,"Get to your seats we need to hyperspace away, another Mandalorian ship has come out of hyperspace, a cruiser this time!" All the pilots ran to the bridge. Arbuk was scared stiff. A cruiser could destroy a ship like this. His personal comm beeped to life. Aren spoke. "Son, I'm sorry about everything, keeping your from your dreams, I haven't been much of a father i wanted you to learn how to smuggle and then send you off to your mother." He sighed. "Dad, you were an amazing father, It's just, I never felt right near you, thats why I decided to join the Jedi. I love you, Dad." Aren started to cry, "I love you too, son. Ch-Check your datapad after this. Let it be known that Arbuk Lesho became the greatest Jedi ever known!" Arbuk reached the bridge, outside he saw Aren's small ship flying full speed into the cruiser. An explosion impacted the bridge sending debris everywhere. Arbuk couldn't believe what his dad did. He felt better, however like a dark entity has been removed from him. He knew not to be sad, Aren loved him and did this for him, he was greatfull for his sacrifice. Bor'wan looked at him and noticed he wasn't crying. "You have done well, Arbuk you remembered that a Jedi should not show sadness for the dead. For as you know there is no death...." "There is the Force." "Very well, then I see we all have had a pretty tireing day, lets head to the kitchen! Except you pilot, those hyperspace coordinates aren't in yet."
At the kitchen there was a great party, celebrating the victory and the new life the dead have found. Arbuk won a Jawa juice drinking contest with Red leader who's name turned out to be Kanbi. A double ace. Arbuk was only an Ace halfway between the two. (Just in case, an Ace is a pilot who shoots down five planes. It may be different in star wars though.) After the party Arbuk was extreamly tired. He got to his room and fell straight to sleep.
The Start of The Shroud
Arbuk was dreaming that he was on a desolate planet. Mountains, void of life. Deserts as far as the eye can see. He was standing on a platform. He saw a man approach a woman in black robes. The man looked like Aren, red with fury. It probably was. Aren and the woman started talking. Soon the woman was mad also. Finally, they turned and walked into a building built in to the side of a mountain. Arbuk felt a lurch forward that startled him awake. He heard yelling and walked to the bridge. The pilot was putting in coordinates again and yelling at the mechanic. "Well, how am I supposed to know what's wrong with the ship? That's your job!" "I don't know what happened, it just stopped!" Bor'wan came in and said "Something has happened with the force, Arbuk did you have a dream?" "Yes," he said, "Well, lets hear it." Arbuk told him about the dream. Bor'wan didn't seem to like the answer, "Pilot hurry up and get this ship in hyperspace." "What's it mean?" Arbuk asked. "You will know the answer although it may take awhile, meaning years for you to learn."
Waiting years to learn the meaning of a dream seemed like kind of a waste of thought so Arbuk went to the kitchen and grabbed some breakfast. The day went on dreary and boring, nothing to do but think about that dream. 'Maybe checking Bor'wan's library will reveal something.' He thought. Arbuk went to his room but the door was closed. 'Oh great' Arbuk thought. Just then Bor'wan came and entered his room. "Hey Arbuk." he said happily. 'You're kidding me.' Arbuk thought frustrated. With nothing to do, he went to his room and found a note from Bor'wan.
Thank you for helping us with the mandalorians. You've told me you fly but an ace at 11 years old? Some of our pilots never make ace after years in the service. In gratitude I am giving you the flightsuit and the Red 6 fighter. Use it well.
'Maybe this isn't such a bad day after all' Arbuk thought. He went down to the flight deck and looked at his new fighter. He didn't remember it being as dark as it was. He grabbed a rag and cleaner and set to work. It took the rest of he day until he was done and Red 6 shined like new. "I Take it you saw his note." Kanbi said as he entered the room. "Yeah, I did." Arbuk answered. Kanbi walked over to the polished ship. "You missed a spot." Arbuk looked where he was pointing. Kanbi hit him with his finger, "Made you look!"
Arbuk and Kanbi sat in the hangar talkting about past flights, from 1 on 1 dogfights to massive fleets duking it out for controll of space. Arbuk felt at truly at home. Like he truly had a friend. Hours passed. Finally Bor'wan found the two of them and brought Arbuk to his room. "I'm glad you finally found someone to be your friend, but alas. We will be at Tython within the hour. "Get ready to leave."
The ship touched down on Tython. Arbuk stepped down the ramp and looked around in astonishment. The green trees, tall mountains, wide oceans, all of it had some sort of life-giving aura. He felt very good here. He ran and jumped in the trees and tall grass, he felt like a little kid with no worries whatsoever. Bor'wan laughed at him jumping around and grabbed him. Walking through the trees, life was everywhere. Walking for hours semmed like nothing. Finally, they reached a very large temple. The entry hall was enormus. Statues lined the main walkway, all wearing robes and holding something in their hands. They walked down the path until they reached the end. There, four Jedi came to greet him with emotionless faces. They and Bor'wan talked about Arbuk. Some of them raised their voices a little. Finally, Bor'wan turned to him, "You must take the fighter and fly to this moon, you will find an old man named Solemor, he will direct you further." Arbuk nodded and started to walk away. But, he turned around and said, "Goodbye, Bor'wan."
Becoming a Jedi
When Arbuk got in the small fighter, he found a datapad from Kanbi. When he opened it a holo of Kanbi appeared and said, "This will only activate when the right time comes, and only then. Yep, you guessed it, not right now." The datapad shut off. 'That was a load of crap,' he thought. He did a final systems check and took off, heading for the moon. It took about a half an hour to arrive. He scaned the surface for the ship Bor'wan described. When he found it Arbuk set the ship down and talked to Solemor. "Hello, are you Master Solemor?" The old man looked at him and smiled. "Yes I am, are you the boy who I was told would be arriving today. Arsnuk right?" "Umm, it's Arbuk." "Eh close enough." The old man took him to another temple. The Jedi weren't waiting for them like before but they showed respect for the old man, to think this guy called him Arsnuk.
When he stopped there was a room with a bed and some drawers. "This is your room, in those drawers are Jedi robes, you should get changed and head to that room over to the left, ok?" Arbuk watched the old man run rather quickly out of the room. He changed into the robes, which were more confortable then they looked, and went to the class.
Upon leaving the class which happened to be for younger kids, he met a young boy named Gale Lansilum who was in the room right across from him. The kid seemed shy around him and other Jedi but was eager to learn, or discover something. 'Kind of a strange one.' Arbuk thought. He went to his room and looked outside. The sun was just about to set from view. Time to sleep.
The next morning, Gale was waiting for Arbuk outside his door to go to breakfast. 'Great, my first friend is a 3-year-old' he thought. "So guess what's for breakfast today? Hard boiled eggs and pancakes!" Gale said with excitement. "Any idea what kind of eggs and what milk went into the pancakes?" Gale's smile dimmed a bit, Arbuk didn't need an answer at this point. They went to the mess hall and ate. They were some of the best pancakes Arbuk had ever had. 'It must be the planet' Arbuk thought. He looked around the messhall. Most were human like him and Gale, but he saw a few other species. A few Zabraks, a couple Kel Dors and a species that Arbuk had never seen. It was blue and had tentacles growing out of it's head like a Twi-lek. 'Probably lived underwater.' thought Arbuk. Gale was finishing his last egg when he looked at Arbuk and asked, "Hey you know what, I have a really cool place we can go to, you wanna come?" Arbuk thought of saying no, but since he had no where else to be today, agreed. The little kid grabbed his arm and pulled him out the door of the mess hall running outside.
After a few hours of walking Gale was still in high spirits and giving Arbuk a workout keeping up. Suddenly Arbuk heard rustling in a bush a little ways to their right. The little child was too focused in getting to his "spot." The rustling stopped as soon as Arbuk looked that way. 'Nothing bad, probably.' he thought. Another minute went by and Gale stopped. "Here we are!" he said. "Ummm, Gale?" "Yes, Arbuk?" "It's a freaking wall!" Arbuk said, frustrated at the long hike. "Ah, say no more." Gale sat down on a rock and it sank down. The wall shifted a bit and a small rift opened just large enough for a few people. Arbuk ran right in. Gale folowed relctantly. "I can't believe you found a place like this, you'd think someone would live here 'cause it sure isn't natural!" Gale looked up at him, "Actually, last time I was here I got scared and never ran in. Arbuk couldn't believe it, 'why did I put it past a young kid to check this place out?' They walked on.
A minute or two into the cave, it opened up a bit. "Glad that's over." Gale said, "Lets get go- HOLY CRAP!" "What do you see?" Arbuk asked. He looked where Gale was pointing and he saw a dog-like creature eating something. The food looked humanoid. "We should get out of here, Gale." Arbuk wispered. He and Gale walked back slowly. When they reached the end of the rift. Arbuk heard a snarl. He turned around and saw another dog-like creature drooling at Gale. Arbuk picked up a rock and threw it at the creature, hitting it in the head causing it to fall over. Wether it was kocked out or dead, he didn't know. The snarl came from behind them this time. The dog from inside was clawing it's way out. Arbuk picked up Gale and lifted him onto his shoulders. He ran back to the temple, but the dog was catching up. Gale had picked up a rock and threw it at the dog; it fell short but managed to trip the thing, putting some distance between them. Arbuk felt like a great power was unleashed inside him, he ran faster than he ever ran before. Trees blurred by them as his speed increased even more. They were at the temple withing a half an hour, whereas it took them 3 hours to get there. He dropped Gale on the ground. "Hey, what was that all about? You just ran faster than a speeder!" "No, I don't....think it was.....that....fast." Arbuk faded out of conciousness. The last thing he heard was Gale yelling for help.
The Power Revealed
Arbuk woke up in the medbay with Gale talking to an older Jedi. When he shifted they looked at him and Gale walked away. "Well, one day here and you've already ended up in the medbay." the Jedi said, shaking his head. "I can understand making a good impression, but this is taking it too far." Arbuk smiled, "Well, I saved the boy, didn't I?" "You did that much" he got up and paced around the room, "but on to the point, do you realize how fast you ran?" Arbuk forgot about the runnning incedent. "Well, I guess it was The Force right?" The Jedi nodded. "Usually, students take a while longer to learn to use the Force like you did. Extreame surcumstances have done that before." Arbuk thought about the power the Force, running fast seemed pretty simple. In a few minutes Arbuk was up and heading to his class to learn about lightsaber combat and styles.
Arbuk decided to become a guardian and master Soresu and mix in some Makashi for a counter-attack based combat style that he was very good at. Learning under the Knights of Sokan, gave him plenty of opportunities to see what happens when you use the Force outside of the classroom. He and Gale went on many other adventures, their greatest will be included in Gale's biography page. For fourteen years he studied with the Knights, meeting other Jedi and discovering ruins and fighting threats to the enclave untill finally it came time for him to be on his first assignment alone.
The Assignment
Fourteen years after Arbuk and Gale escaped the hounds Arbuk reported to the KoS council chambers. Gale met him right outside the door, "So, I'm not coming with you this time am I?" Arbuk smiled at the 18 year-old, still the kid he met outside of class. "Sorry Gale, I need to do this alone." "Do what?" Gale asked, "How do you even know that you need to do something alone if you don't know what it is?" "Let the council decide that." Arbuk stepped in and bowed to the council. "You wanted to see me?" "Ah, Arbuk I assume you know why you are here so lets get to the point," said one council member. "We have recieved reports that something bad has been going on in the Mygeeto system." continued another, "Since you seem to have some farmiliarity with Mygeeto we believed you should check it out." Arbuk was confused, "Masters, do you know what "Bad" has been going on in Mygeeto?" "No we do not, which is why we want you to report to us when you figure out what it is." Arbuk bowed and left the room.
Outside, Arbuk got in his fighter and took off setting a cource for Mygeeto. He just installed a new upgraded hyperdrive so the trip shouldn't be as long as it was last time. 'I doubt he was going full throttle anyway.' he thought remembering the flight of his life. He took off and recieved a call on his comm, snapping him out of dreamland. He turned it on and it was Gale "By the way rumor around the mess hall is that it's a Sith so watch out!" "Well, I'll be on the look-out for anything like that, thanks." he shut off the comm and took off into space setting a cource for Mygeeto, the planet he never wanted to go back to.
The fighter came out of hypespace above Mygeeto, the planet was no different than it was all those years ago. He set down on the planet, paid the fine and looked around for some trouble. The best place to look for that is the cantina. He talked to the the bartender, "Any trouble eh? It's about time you Jedi showed up we got trouble all over the place!" "Well, then you can tell me who caused it and what happened." The bartender got him a drink. "Thats on the house, so like I's a saying," he lowered his voice, "Some lady come in and start an all out brawl in here but she run away somewhere, she prbably at the apartment just up the street." Arbuk went over to the apartment and talked to the owner of the complex. He said the person checked out and headed out of the city.
Arbuk followed every lead he was given untill he ended up clear on the other side of Mygeeto by then he was almost out of fuel in his ship and close to out of credits from the large cost they charge. Finally he ended up in an abandoned building where a speeder dealer said they would be hiding out. Arbuk took out his lightsaber and force pushed the door down. He charged inside, igniting his saber. What apeared to be a guard was standing inside with a thermal detonator in his hand. "Well looky here look like the boss was right. You come with me or I blow us both up." Knowing there would be no other way to track down this criminal, he followed. he went down a flight of stairs where an elaborate network of tunnels greeted him with a wall of cold air. They took many turns until they stopped outside a door with a small opening in the top. "Hey, Boss, we got's the Jedi you talked about!" Nothing happened. "You, Jedi the Boss says to stand off to the side of the door." Arbuk did as he said. The guard grabbed the doorknob and it shot out toward the wall, crushing the unfortunate guard. Arbuk walked in the door. He felt the same way he did during his dream on Bor'wan's ship, "Well, I take it you didn't like him?" "Just sit down and be quiet!" The Boss was a girl, about her mid-40s. "I always heard Jedi are wise so I'll just skip the introduction and get to the point you know why your here." "I do believe I do, but, then again, I don't. I have felt your presence before and I don't know who you are. You might be someone close to me then again, maybe not. You might be a distant relative or you might be a total stranger. You mi- " "Enough of these childish games!" The Boss interrupted. She grabbed a lightsaber that was floating in the air near her and ignited it. Arbuk pulled out his own and the duel began.
First Duel
Arbuk used his counter-attack technique, but her attacks were so quick and furious, he could only block all the incoming strikes. When she pulled her saber back in recoil, he saw his chance and grazed her saber hand, forcing her to drop it. She force pushed Arbuk through the wall of the small room into another where mor guards stood, blasters pointed at his head. He jumped up and cut their rifles in half with one wide stroke. He used the Force to find out where she was. She was in a room with multiple others, probably set there as a trap. He went closer and then all of them just dissapeared. Arbuk ran through the door and found one of the giant Mygeeto worms, only this one was giant compared to the others. He ran over to the Sith he was fighting and ignited his saber. She looked at him and said, "No! We can't fight now! That worm will kill us both if we don't fight it! I'll have to kill you later." Arbuk stared at the Sith, "Why the sudden change in thought?" he asked. "No change at all!" She jumped up and attacked him. Her guards were trying to take down the worm during their fight.
The worm smashed the building killing everyone inside and sending debris falling on some of the guards and destroying the foundation of the cliff Arbuk was fighing on. He jumped off and landed on a slab of the building sliding down the mountain. The worm looked at Arbuk it had a scar right where Arbuk hit the other worm when he met Bor'wan. 'Revenge is not just human' he thought. Turning his attention to the Sith, who was in mid-air heading right for him. He stood Ready to stop an incoming attack in a Soresu stance. Just as she was about to hit him he used a combonation of force speed and force jump to give the illusion of teleporting to another slab of wall. Right across from them. She smashed through the slab and created a crater. Arbuk used the same technique again but this time, ended up behind her and attacked her. He wounded her leg, almost crippeling it. "You could have easily killed me and yet you continue to injure me! Iknew I should have never left you with Aren!" Arbuk stopped everything he was doing. The worm was not moving, neither was his mother. He fell on his knees and just looked at her. She walked to one of her guards who's legs were eaten by the worm. She drained the life out of him and picked up her lightsaber. The real duel hasn't even started yet.
Her strength returned, Arbuk's mother walked toward him. "Aren never told you why he didn't want you to be a Jedi. The Jedi talk about peace and solving conflicts, but they just cause death. The Sith are truly powerful, the Sith stop a fight before it begins, before people get hurt or killed. The Jedi have caused more death than they have stopped, look at the mandalorian wars; the Republic killed countless mandalorian people. You Jedi caused the death of many others no one cared about, they died for you; you can handle yourself why send others to a pointless death? A pointless death like Aren's!" Arbuk couldn't take any more. He fliped behind her and struk, she parried with ease. Arbuk used the same flurry of attacks she used when he was fighting her earlier. In a sith-like way, he beat her defence like a drum not letting up for even a second. She force pushed him away into a peice of wall. Arbuk then felt himself being lifted off the ground, he couldn't breathe. She smiled and flung him toward the edge of the cliff. He dragged along the ground, slowing down untill the edge. His legs were dangling off the side. She walked toward him, slowly. "Wow, you look just like Aren when my Master found out, thats when I killed him and truy bacame a Sith, ah those memories." Arbuk used the Force to pull her off the edge, she did the same as she was falling.
Arbuk and his Mother dueled while falling down the cliff. The performed acrobatics very hard to do while standing on the ground, easily performed in air. Her offence was just as good as Arbuk's defence. The worm had followed them down the cliff and was coming up to them fast. Arbuk looked at his mom and force pushed her away, "Listen, either we fight that worm together or we both end up dead!" She just laughed at him, "You make me laugh, what makes you think you can trick me?" Arbuk pulled himself toward the cliff with the force just as the worm jumped out of the cliff. Arbuk landed on top of it but his mom was swallowed up inside. He sat down, knowing he had finished it. Until the worm started shaking.
The worm threw him off and roared; many other worms popped out of the ground. One of them charged at him, he dived behind a rock and it slid underground. He pulled out his comm and signaled for his fighter to come to him. He got away from the worms and rode on them for a bit when he could. His fighter arrived and he took off heading for Tython. Arbuk sent a message to the enclave, "Well, I found the source of the trouble, it was a Sith that happened to be my Mother, suposably. I'm fine and I'm heading back to the temple." He took out the datapad Kanbi gave him and tried to open it for the fifth time this trip. It opened finally. Arbuk was waiting for what it had to say, hopefully something good. "Well, I'm not going to sugarcoat it so, I'll just say it," Arbuk waited anxiously, "Your shoes untied." The datapad short circuted in his hand. This actually puzzled Arbuk, Kanbi knew Jedi shoes don't have laces.
Quick note
This is Arbuk's story right up untill the start of Star Wars The Old Republic, some details have been left out but this is pretty much it, see you at launch!
